This tutorial walks you through getting a StartBase site live in about half an hour. You don't need design experience or technical skills — just a working idea of what you want to say.

Before you start

Have these three things ready:

• A short, plain-English description of what your product does

• Your logo (or a placeholder if you don't have one yet)

• One screenshot or mockup of your product

That's it. You can swap any of these out later.

Step 1 — Pick a template (3 minutes)

After signing up, pick the template closest to your product category. Don't overthink it. Layout choices are easy to change later; the critical thing is getting something on the page.

Step 2 — Replace the hero (5 minutes)

Rewrite the headline so it says what your product does, in plain words, to your specific user. No clever metaphors. No "platform." If you can't say it in fifteen words, the message isn't sharp enough yet.

Replace the hero image with your screenshot.

Step 3 — Replace the social proof (4 minutes)

If you have early users, quote them. If you don't, swap the testimonials section for a different proof element — a press logo, a partner integration, or a "currently in beta with X founders" stat.

Don't fake testimonials. Reviewers and savvy users notice immediately.

Step 4 — Set up pricing (8 minutes)

Decide your tiers and prices before opening the pricing section. Editing pricing live with no plan is how you end up with three plans that all look the same.

A safe starting structure: a free or low-tier plan, a main paid plan, and an annual variant. Three options, one obviously default.

Step 5 — Polish and publish (10 minutes)

Walk through the page on a phone. Read every word out loud. Fix anything that sounds awkward.

Hit Publish. Send the link to three people whose judgment you trust. Watch what they do.
