Is there really a free plan?
Yes. The free plan covers one project, our core templates, and a startbase.site subdomain. It's not a trial — you can stay on it as long as you like. Upgrade only when you need a custom domain, more projects, or team seats.
Do you charge per seat?
No per-seat creep. Team plans include a fixed number of editors, and adding more is a flat monthly add-on, not a per-user multiplier. We don't believe in punishing teams for collaborating.
Can I switch plans or cancel anytime?
Yes — upgrade, downgrade, or cancel from your billing settings at any time. Upgrades are prorated for the current cycle. Downgrades take effect at the next renewal so you keep what you paid for.
What happens if I exceed plan limits?
We'll warn you long before anything breaks. You can choose to upgrade, archive a project, or just keep going — we don't auto-charge overages or shut your site down without notice.
Do you offer discounts for non-profits or students?
Yes. Verified non-profits get 50% off any paid plan, and students with a valid .edu email get free Pro for 12 months. Reach out to hello@startbase.com with proof of status.
